Announcements 9/27


Best Buddies membership applications are due by Friday 9/29/17 to Ms. Lydon in room 209. We will have our first meeting/meet and greet on Thursday 10/5 during 7th period. The meet and greet will be for those members who turned in their application. Any questions please see Ms. Lydon in room 209.
"The boys soccer team picked up an important district win Tuesday night. They defeated Holy Cross 5-0 to clinch the top seed in the district tournament. Goal scorers were Trent Green, Isaiah Jones, Cooper Knight, and PJ Cleary with 2 goals. Senior day will be Saturday at 2 pm against Moore here at PRP. "
Registration for the PSAT will start on 9/25 in Mrs. Hockman's office in the Main Office. The cost is $18 cash. This is the only test that will qualify a student for the National Merit Scholarship. The test will be given on 10/11 at PRP.
Seniors and parents of seniors should sign up for the Class of 2018 remind app. text number 81010 with message @prp2018 to sign up
Seniors don't forget to turn in permission slips for college field trips.
FAFSA nigh 9/26 at 6:30 in auditorium. Seniors should have parents attend.
Wed. 9/27 UofL admissions and LGBT center will be in rm. 108 from 2:30-3:30 to discuss admissions and how to find an LGBT friendly college. FREE DONUTS for all who attend.

There will be an important meeting for all parents of students in AP classes at Open House. This meeting will give information concerning registration and payment for all AP Tests as well as resources for your student to get ready for their test. Open House is Thursday, September 22 at 6:00. Please come out. All tests must be registered and paid for by the middle of October.
Students, here’s your opportunity to express yourself and show off your artistic skills by participating in the PTA Reflections Contest. This year’s theme is ""Within Reach"". Interpret the theme in your choice of art form and be recognized locally, statewide, even nationally!!!! Pick up information and entry forms from Mrs. Wilhoit in E1.

Sign ups for College visits will be Sept. 18th-Oct. 13th. Seniors can sign up in room 112. You must have a cumulative 2.0 gpa and no major discipline referrals this school year to be eligible for these college visits. There are 36 spots per bus. 1 bus will be taken on most visits. Seniors can sign up for no more than 2 visits. Dates for visits- Morehead State University- Oct. 23, JCTC- Oct. 26, IUS- Nov. 1, EKU- Nov. 6, WKU- Nov. 8, Plumbers/Pipefitters- Nov. 15, UK- TBD.
The Kentucky Humane Society needs your help! You have from Monday September 18 through October 2nd to bring in as many supplies as you can to donate to the Humane Society. Bring items such as blankets, beds, wet/dry food, treats, and toys for cats and dogs. Give them to your 7th period teacher. The 7th period class who donates the most supplies will get pizza.
Students please watch your speed while driving on campus and the streets surrounding PRP (Yucca and Feyhurst). Also, driving behind the tech building is now off limits, the gates behind the tech building (by the baseball field) will be locked from now on.
All cars need to be moved from the front parking lot next to Greenwood Road by 3pm Daily for Marching Band Practice. We appreciate everyone's cooperation!
Underclassmen Picture Day will be October 4, 2017. Pictures will be taken during the students English class. More information about purchasing photos will be sent home closer to the date. See Mr. Braun in room 104 with any questions. "
Panther Pride (formerly GSA) meets every WEDNESDAY in rm108 from 2:30-3:30 Free snacks! All are welcome to attend! Please see Ms. Murphy in 108 for more details. Come enjoy a LGBTQ+ positive environment where we hang out, watch movies, discuss LGBTQ+ issues, listen to guest speakers on topics including LGBTQ+ sexual health, trans rights, social media, being LGBTQ+ in the military, family issues, your allies here at PRP, coming out, consent, and so much more! "

UofL's LGBT center is coming to speak at the Panther Pride meeting on Wed. 9/27 2:30-3:30! They will provide a look at what a Pride organization is like in college. They will be here to show us what to look for when researching LGBTQ+ friendly schools and they will bring UofL admissions staff to help address any questions about the admissions process! See Ms. Murphy in 108 for more details. "
