Attention all students and parents--Do you have an Android phone? If so, there is an app available that allows you to download a TI-84 Calculator for free! While you are not allowed to use these on any standardized tests (including ACT and EOC), this can be very useful for homework. Some teachers may even allow them to be used in class for daily work (but not for tests or quizzes). The apps name is Wabbit emu. It can be downloaded on google play. We suggest that you download the TI 84 C SE version as this is the most recent release by TI--in color!

Hello All! With the Holiday Season quickly approaching, it is time to start our annual Student Council Canned Food Drive. First period classes should bring in canned goods and The Student Council will come around once a week to collect them. Our canned food drive will run November 17-December 12. Please keep track of how many canned goods your first period collects and the class with the most will receive breakfast on December 18.
PRP Clubs, Organizations, and Classes-We will also be adopting families to purchase holiday gifts for this year. Please let me know if your club, organization, or class would like to participate and what size family you would like to buy gifts for. Please reply back to me as soon as possible with your club/organization/classes name and small, medium, or large family. We had 10 clubs/organizations adopt families last year and this year I think we can have bunches more! Remember that this is the only way that these families have food and gifts for the holidays! Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Announcements 12/3/14

PRP Bowlers would like to invite faculty and staff, and any other adults to come participate in our No-Tap fundraiser at Dixie Bowl on Saturday December 6 at 6:30. Cost is $20. We will have a mystery envelope door prize board and baskets available to win.
Attention all students and parents--Do you have an Android phone? If so, there is an app available that allows you to download a TI-84 Calculator for free! While you are not allowed to use these on any standardized tests (including ACT and EOC), this can be very useful for homework. Some teachers may even allow them to be used in class for daily work (but not for tests or quizzes). The apps name is Wabbit emu. It can be downloaded on google play. We suggest that you download the TI 84 C SE version as this is the most recent release by TI--in color!

First period classes should bring in canned goods and The Student Council will come around once a week to collect them. Our canned food drive will run November 17-December 12. Please keep track of how many canned goods your first period collects and the class with the most will receive breakfast on December 18. PRP Clubs, Organizations, and Classes-We will also be adopting families to purchase holiday gifts for this year. Please let me know if your club, organization, or class would like to participate and what size family you would like to buy gifts for. Please reply back to me as soon as possible with your club/organization/classes name and small, medium, or large family. We had 10 clubs/organizations adopt families last year and this year I think we can have bunches more! Remember that this is the only way that these families have food and gifts for the holidays! The PRP cheerleaders will compete for the 6th Region title on Saturday, 12/6 at 2:20pm. The competition starts at 2 at Valley High School. The cost for adults is $7, children 13-7 are $3, and 6 and younger are free. Come support our cheerleaders on their road to state!

Seniors- Students interested in enrolling as a Campbellsville Tiger in the fall -- upcoming deadlines! Requirements and details about the scholarships are listed below and you will find the applications attached! Also, please note that the presidential excellence scholarship and presidential scholarship use the same form. *Presidential Excellence Scholarship—This is our most prestigious award. To qualify for this award you must have a 3.5 GPA and a 33 or higher on the ACT. It is a full tuition and room and board scholarship. *Presidential Scholarship—awarded to five students. For this you must have a 3.5 GPA and a 30 on your ACT. This is a FULL TUITION scholarship.
Baptist Leadership Award—you must attend a church that is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention for this one. Two students will receive half-tuition scholarships, 15 $1,000.00 and 45 $500.00 scholarships. For this you must be nominated by your pastor to be eligible to receive this award.

Congratulations to the students of PRP Creative for their First Place win in this year's Louisville Advertising Federation High School Marketing Challenge!! Taylor Gray, Kara Barnett, Morgan Tilton, Kelaiah Clark and Malik Alleyne-Jones researched the topic of sleep deprivation and developed an advertising campaign using posters and social media to raise awareness about the importance of sleep. Way to go Panthers!

We will visit East Harlem and participate in a Latin Dance workshop at one of New York's top dance studios. Limited space is available, but it's not too late!

Baptist Leadership Award—you must attend a church that is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention for this one. Two students will receive half-tuition scholarships, 15 $1,000.00 and 45 $500.00 scholarships. For this you must be nominated by your pastor to be eligible to receive this award.
Seniors- The Vogt Scholarship Info is here. This is a $10,000 award. Applicants must have a 3.2 or higher GPA , 25 or higher on ACT. This application is online. Deadline is Dec 3. Please see Mrs. Wilson if interested." The Renau Foundation will award two scholarships up to $20,000 each to the Louisville-area high school seniors who submit winning entries in the categories of fiction and nonfiction. Entry deadline is January 31, 2015. For more information visit www.renaufoundation.org. Last year, three of the five winners were from JCPS. Students, teachers or staff interested in traveling to NYC over Derby weekend in May should see Ms. Webb in Rm. T112A. Don't miss out on this opportunity to visit the Big Apple. You will visit the Museum of Modern Art, stand atop the Empire State Building, see Times Square and a broadway show, the Statue of Liberty, and 911 Memorial. We will visit East Harlem and participate in a Latin Dance workshop at one of New York's top dance studios. Limited space is available, but it's not too late! Hello All! With the Holiday Season quickly approaching, it is time to start our annual Student Council Canned Food Drive. First period classes should bring in canned goods and The Student Council will come around once a week to collect them. Our canned food drive will run November 17-December 12. Please keep track of how many canned goods your first period collects and the class with the most will receive breakfast on December 18.
PRP Clubs, Organizations, and Classes-We will also be adopting families to purchase holiday gifts for this year. Please let me know if your club, organization, or class would like to participate and what size family you would like to buy gifts for. Please reply back to me as soon as possible with your club/organization/classes name and small, medium, or large family. We had 10 clubs/organizations adopt families last year and this year I think we can have bunches more! Remember that this is the only way that these families have food and gifts for the holidays! PRP Bowlers had a match with JTown at Kingpin lanes Thursday. The boys lost 5-2, in spite of high games by Denver Wilson - 211, Jimmy Jordan - 236, Mikell Reyes - 213, and a career high by Ben VonAllmen - 268. The girls defeated JTown 7-0. High Scores for the girls were Alexis Durr 191, Ashley Domeck 197, Kassidy White 210, TaShayla Dunnaway 187, Ciarra Jarboe 268, Keelyn Cox 190, and Morgan Rush 203 and 213.

PRP Cross Country ran in the region 3 state qualifying race this past saturday at Tom Sawyer  State Park.   Lasharia Young of the Lady Panthers ran her best race of the season and qualified to run this saturday in the KHSAA Cross Country Championship.  The 3A girls championship race is at 1:30 at the Kentucky Horse Park.  Congradulations goes out to Lasharia Young and the rest of the Cross Country team.

New Tardy Procedures

Starting Monday, November 10th, 2014, tardy hall will begin once again.
 The tardy hall policy will be as follows:

  •  If you are tardy to school for periods 1 & 2, you will sign-in in the cafeteria and remain until the end of the period. o If you sign-in after 8:30 am you will stay for 2nd period tardy hall. 
  •  If you sign-in after 9:30 am you will stay for 3rd period tardy hall. 
  • If you are signing in to school late between 3rd thru 5th periods, you will sign-in in the following locations: 
    • 9th and 10th grade students will sign-in in the Counseling Office in the main building. If your tardy is unexcused, you will proceed to tardy hall in room 112. 
    • 11th and 12th grade students will sign-in in the Tech. Building Office. 
    •  If your tardy is unexcused, you will proceed to tardy hall in room 112. 
  •  If you are already at school and you are tardy to class you will report to the following locations: 1st: Cafeteria 2nd: Cafeteria 3rd: 112 4th: 112 5th: 112 •
  • All students who report to tardy hall 5 minutes after the bell has sounded will be considered cutting class and a disciplinary referral will be sent to your respective assistant principal. All students will be given a constructive assignment to complete in tardy hall! 
  • A tardy is considered excused/unexcused per JCPS / PRP attendance policy which can be found in the Student Handbook.

* The football homecoming dance is Friday Oct. 31 from 9pm- 12am. The theme is Monster Mash and the cost is $8 at the door. There will be costumes contests and a haunted house! Any student who has a date that does not attend PRP must sign up their name and their dates name prior to the dance.  There is a sign up sheet out side room 211.  Also, everyone, PRP students and non-PRP dates, must bring a picture ID to be admitted to the dance.

*Seniors- Males of Color**
The first event will be a Free College Application Event for JCPS High School Senior males of color.  This event will be held Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at the Louisville Urban League [1535 W. Broadway, 40203].  During this event, college bound Jefferson County High School Senior males of color will have the opportunity to apply to schools around the country at no cost. Seniors will be able to apply to each school if they bring 7-10 copies of the following:
·         Students' high school transcript
·         Students' senior year schedule
·         Students' ACT/SAT Scores

*Please remember that a parent note will only excuse 10 days.  Beyond the 10 days, a student must have a doctor, dental, funeral etc. note.  All notes must be turned in within 3 days of the students return to school.
Any student with 6 or more unexcused absences will not be allowed to attend Ring Dance or Prom."
