Announcements 9/28/17

Best Buddies membership applications are due by Friday 9/29/17 to Ms. Lydon in room 209. We will have our first meeting/meet and greet on Thursday 10/5 during 7th period. The meet and greet will be for those members who turned in their application. Any questions please see Ms. Lydon in room 209.
The boys soccer team picked up an important district win Tuesday night. They defeated Holy Cross 5-0 to clinch the top seed in the district tournament. Goal scorers were Trent Green, Isaiah Jones, Cooper Knight, and PJ Cleary with 2 goals. Senior day will be Saturday at 2 pm against Moore here at PRP.
Registration for the PSAT will start on 9/25 in Mrs. Hockman's office in the Main Office. The cost is $18 cash. This is the only test that will qualify a student for the National Merit Scholarship. The test will be given on 10/11 at PRP.
Seniors and parents of seniors should sign up for the Class of 2018 remind app. text number 81010 with message @prp2018 to sign up
Seniors don't forget to turn in permission slips for college field trips.

UofL's LGBT center is coming to speak at the Panther Pride meeting on Wed. 9/27 2:30-3:30! They will provide a look at what a Pride organization is like in college. They will be here to show us what to look for when researching LGBTQ+ friendly schools and they will bring UofL admissions staff to help address any questions about the admissions process! See Ms. Murphy in 108 for more details. "
Students please watch your speed while driving on campus and the streets surrounding PRP (Yucca and Feyhurst). Also, driving behind the tech building is now off limits, the gates behind the tech building (by the baseball field) will be locked from now on.
The Kentucky Humane Society needs your help! You have from Monday September 18 through October 2nd to bring in as many supplies as you can to donate to the Humane Society. Bring items such as blankets, beds, wet/dry food, treats, and toys for cats and dogs. Give them to your 7th period teacher. The 7th period class who donates the most supplies will get pizza.

Announcements 9/21/17

Students and parents, in order to sign your child out of school early on Friday (the 22nd) a parent/ guardian must come into the building and show photo identification in order to sign you out. No phone sign outs or notes to sign out will be accepted.

PRP’s Football Homecoming is Fri. Sept. 22, 2017 from 9pm-12am and this year’s theme is Outer Space. The cost is $8 per person. You must be picked up by 12:00 am or you will not be allowed to attend our next dance. Any student who has a date or friend that does not attend PRP must sign up their name and their date or friend's name prior to the dance. There is a sign up sheet outside room 221. The sign up sheet will come down after lunch on Wed. Sept. 20. Everyone must bring a picture ID.

The Special Olympic Athletes will be collecting doantions during all three lunches for the UPS Plane Pull. Any donation is welcome. The money raised will benefit our Special Olympic Athletes at PRP as well as all over the state of Kentucky. Please stop by and give any change or monetary donation you would like!! Thanks for supporting these amazing athletes!!

Announcements 9/15/17

Constitution Day is Sept 17! Our Constitution establishes the framework for the functioning of our government. We are led by 3 branches, each with separate powers, and checks and balances between the three to ensure one does not become more powerful than another. The President leads the Executive branch, the House of Representatives and the Senate make up Congress, or our Legislative branch. The Judicial is made up of a Supreme Court and a system of lower courts. Thank our Founding Fathers for the rights we are guaranteed as citizens in our Constitution! Foremost, continue to participate to ensure the opinions of the people are always heard!

There is no sitting fee and proofs will be sent home with students 2-3 weeks after picture day. See Mr. Braun with any questions.

PRP’s Football Homecoming is Fri. Sept. 22, 2017 from 9pm-12am and this year’s theme is Outer Space. The cost is $8 per person. You must be picked up by 12:00 am or you will not be allowed to attend our next dance. Any student who has a date or friend that does not attend PRP must sign up their name and their date or friend's name prior to the dance. There is a sign up sheet outside room 221. The sign up sheet will come down after lunch on Wed. Sept. 20. Everyone must bring a picture ID.
The Boys soccer team defeated Doss 4-1 Thursday night to improve to 9 and 0 this season. Brandon Hardesty scored a goal and Isaiah Jones had a hat trick. We'd like to thank everyone that came out to support us last night. We have a big district match at Holy Cross next Wednesday night.

The Boys Soccer team traveled to Lexington on Saturday to face Bryan Station. In a tough match up our team showed great resilience and earned a 2-1 victory and improved to 7-0 this season. Goal scorers were Isaiah Jones and PJ Cleary. We will take on a tough Southern team at 5 o'clock Wednesday at PRP.
