Monday 9/26/16

Balfour will be here on Oct. 10, 2016 during 5th period. This will be an informational meeting for Juniors concerning Ring sales for the Class of 2017 Ring Ceremony. Balfour will return to take orders on these dates during 4th period. Oct 20 and 28
This week let's celebrate our right to read! It's Banned Books Week in the PRP library! Go on a blind date with a banned book, and be entered to win 5 new books from Barnes & Noble!
The PRP marching band placed 5th out of 14 bands at morehead state university this weekend & received a proficient rating. Please congratulate these students.
The Ridge Regiment percussion section placed 3rd at morehead state and received a distinguished rating.
The Ridge Regiment color guard placed 4th at morehead state in color guard adjudication.
STUDENTS YOU NEED TO KNOW: If you arrive at school by bus, TARC, car, or walking, you must IMMEDIATELY enter the school. Once you arrive on campus you are not allowed to leave the premises. If you do, this is considered a cut, and you're subject to additional disciplinary measures.
STUDENTS YOU NEED TO KNOW: Any student SUSPENDED from school OR accumulates more than 6 unexcused absences throughout a school year will not be allowed to attend Homecoming Activities, Junior Ring Dance or Senior Prom and activities.
Students, express yourself and show off your skills by participating in the PTA Reflections Contest. This year’s theme is What Is Your Story?… Interpret the theme in your choice of art form and be recognized locally, statewide, even nationally!!!! Pick up information and entry forms from Mrs. Wilhoit in E1.
Students that would like to take the PSAT on Oct 19 must sign up in the counseling office. Sign ups will begin on Sept 26. Cost is $18 CASH ONLY! This is the only qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship and is required for Governor's Scholars Program if you have not taken the ACT. See Mrs. Wilson for any questions.
There will be a Future Problem Solving (FPS) interest meeting at 2:30 on Wednesday, September 28 in Ms. Henry's room- 202. Any student is invited to attend in order to learn about FPS to get a team started at PRP. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in learning more, please contact Ms. Henry in Room 202.
The PTA is awarding $25.00 gift cards for each arts category of the PTA Reflections Contest!! Come by E1 and pick up your information. Win a $25.00 gift card and proceed to the Regional, State and National levels. Express "What Is Your Story?"
Higher Purpose will meet next Thursday, September 30th from 2:30 to 3:30 in Room 219. Please join us for a time of fellowship, devotion, and service.
The 2016 Powder Puff game with be Friday, October 21. Applications for players (girls) and cheerleaders (boys) are now available. Junior sign up will be Wednesday, September 28 after school in room 217. Senior sign up will be Thursday, September 29 after school in room 208 (boys) and room 332 (girls).
