Congratulations to Visual Art student, Morgan Timberlake, whose artwork was chosen for the cover of the Bluegrass Music News Journal. This was a statewide contest. Morgan will also be featured in the Courier Journal's Achievers Column. Congrats, Morgan!!
Tryouts f/Boys basketball begins next week as follows: Varsity 11th -12th grade will be in the old gym on Monday at 5:00. Don't be late! Tryouts f/JV boys (10th grade) are Wednesday at 5:15 in Old gym. Tryouts f/FR (9th grade) are Wednesday at 6:15 in the Old gym. ***Note- you must have a physical packet filled out completely and a $5.00 tryout fee; NO EXCEPTIONS! You must have your own transportation to and from tryouts. *Tryouts for boys playing fall sports will be held at a later date!
Orders for Class of 2018 hooded sweatshirts and sweatpants is due to Mrs. Danzinger by Friday, October 20. Money is due at time of order.

Student Council will meet on Tuesday Oct. 17 in room 221 from 2:30-2:45 to discuss Trick or Treat at PRP. Trick or Treat at PRP is Oct. 26 from 5-7.
PRP Lady Panthers Basketball Tryouts Begin Next Monday and Tuesday October 16th and 17th from 245 until 5pm. You must have a physical on file with the athletic office, in order to participate in the tryout.
Reminder to VARSITY Quick Recall members, please meet in room 201 after school for our match against Shawnee TODAY (Wednesday 10-11).
Vogt Scholarship Info: · Demonstrated leadership in school, extra-curricular and community activities · A cumulative (weighted) GPA of 3.2 or higher · An ACT score of 25 or higher, or an SAT of 1200 or higher (redesigned SAT) · Completed and/or enrolled in Advanced Placement or equivalent college-level curriculum The application and review process is entirely online. The registration link for applicants will be active the morning of October 11th on the Community Foundation of Louisville site.
Seniors, check on the PRP website for info on the Vogt Scholarship. This is a $10,000 scholarship. Only applications using the online system (including all recommendations) will be accepted. The deadline to submit applications and recommendations is November 29th at 4:30pm EST.

Attention - all students preparing entries in the PTA Reflections Contest: Your entries and forms are due to Mrs. Wilhoit by Oct. 17th.
If any student is interested in being a Legislative Page for a day, please see Ms. Stewart in the Student Service Center for an application. You would be applying to go to Frankfort and serve in the state's capitol as a page in either the House or the Senate. Anyone is welcome to apply. You must, however, have good attendance and be passing your classes with a C or better. The Page date will be sometime after Christmas Break.

All cars need to be moved from the front parking lot next to Greenwood Road by 3pm Daily for Marching Band Practice. We appreciate everyone's cooperation!
Students please watch your speed while driving on campus and the streets surrounding PRP (Yucca and Feyhurst). Also, driving behind the tech building is now off limits, the gates behind the tech building (by the baseball field) will be locked from now on.
Sign ups for College visits will be Sept. 18th-Oct. 13th. Seniors can sign up in room 112. You must have a cumulative 2.0 gpa and no major discipline referrals this school year to be eligible for these college visits. There are 36 spots per bus. 1 bus will be taken on most visits. Seniors can sign up for no more than 2 visits. Dates for visits- Morehead State University- Oct. 23, JCTC- Oct. 26, IUS- Nov. 1, EKU- Nov. 6, WKU- Nov. 8, Plumbers/Pipefitters- Nov. 15, UK- TBD.
Seniors that need help completing the FAFSA may attend the FAFSA completion night at PRP. It is October 19 from 6-7:30 in the Library. Please bring necessary documents. Parents may attend to get help completing financial aid. We will have experts present to assist. Don't miss out!
Seniors, scholarship information that comes to the counselors will be posted on the PRP website. Please look for the SCHOLARSHIP BUTTON coming soon. Students should check this weekly to look for new scholarship information. See your Academy Counselor for info.
If you received an Educational Benefits Form (EBF Form) from your teacher please return it this week. These forms are required of EVERY student. If you don't turn one in, we will keep sending home a form until we receive this form back.
Seniors, you must complete a FSA ID to start the FAFSA. Please go to fafsa.gov for info.
